We went back and forth on putting this product in our back yard and now we wish we would have done it sooner! Best money ever spent and now instead of dirt we have a lawn. We tired every type of grass possible and it would not grow in our back yard. We have one big dog and she too is enjoying the new lawn! We chose this product because of a 400 sq foot area next to our pool that was too shady to grow grass. On top of that - our dog made a mess of it every time she came out of the pool soaking wet. It was a mud pit. The installation went well and the product has worked beautifully. Despite tropical rainstorms the area drains completely. One of our biggest concerns was developing a urine smell but we haven't noticed that either. When lawn furniture is moved the grass bounces up again nicely. The only chore is that I now need to regularly blow the area to prevent accumulation of leaves - but that is a nice trade off for a clean and dry space! Author: Mike
We had SYnlawn put in a rounded rectangle of grass with a paver border this month. It was overall a great experience Katie Snead came out and showed us samples of grass that works well with pets, measured, and answered all questions we had then and later. The installers: William, Poncho, and Mario did a wonderful job. The only reason we gave them four is we had a hiccup of the company putting the wrong infill in, but they were great and came back in and change the infill to the correct within the week. I haven't quit saying great things about this product since it's install, 6 months ago. First, this is quite possibly the best investment I have made for the amount of use it gets. It's expensive BUT the reward is beyond the price and I'll happily pay the future bills related to it because 1. The dogs are clean, through rain and shine, and thus the house is clean. 2. there is a psychological effect to an inviting yard, like an inviting room and we ALL use this yard now. Last year no one would touch the yard. Now the neighborhood kids flock to it and my video game daughter PLAYS in it. Looks much better than alternative synthetic lawns - passers-by could be excused for thinning it was real grass. 1 inch thick thatch provides good cushioning. The specs for this grass says it does not require infill and that is probably a fair statement; though the long blades do tend to stay down rather than bounce back in areas where you might have stood for a few minutes. I recently had my synlawn (SYNTipede 214) installed by Chesapeake bay Synthetic Landscapes. Now my back yard is no longer muddy or soggy. We just had a complete nightfall and day of rain and it still is not feeling "wet", I walk on it barefoot and the kids play on it having tons of fun. I am so excited at the prospects of being able to have a normal summer with outside play, pool time and running through the sprinklers without getting muddy. My favorite features are, it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, (so green and pretty), soft for the kids to play, easy to maintain, no chemicals needed to maintain it, and the drainage which is essential while living in a wet zone. I have 3 big rotties that love to run, jump, wrestle, fight, dig, chew, and pretty much destroy everything in their path. We had this centipede turf installed and they absolutely love it. They still run, jump and wrestle but the destruction has gone way down. They can't dig or do any damage to this stuff. We have had our product now for over a month, and I am unbelievably happy with it. I was hesitant to splurge on this product for our dog run, but after quite a bit of consideration and research into other options, we went for it!! My dogs are so happy, and more importantly.... NO MORE MUD IN THE HOUSE!!!! I can let the dogs use the doggy door as they please without worrying about the weather! i just completed my grass installation today and I could not be happier. Installation was straight forward and went smoothly. My new yard looks great and the dogs love it. They were laying on and rolling in the grass before I was even done My installation included 3 areas, two were 15x8 and one was 3x20.
